I’m not a photographer; I take snapshots – lots of them – sometimes with a tripod.
(does that make me a “photographer”? I’ve been to some places where using a tripod is
considered the difference between a casual tourist and a “professional”).
I’m not an artist either – although I’ve been inspired by some.
George Coll, Alain Briot, and Jody Alquist Mough come to mind.
Not that their abilities rubbed off – but they have been inspirational.
I’ve been interested in taking pictures most of my life and usually have a camera on-hand or nearby.
I’ve taken a lot of photos – a personal documentary of sorts of my life’s travels.
Some of them even turn out OK – even a blind pig finds a truffle now and then.
I don’t regret taking so many photos; I regret not taking more – even bad pics are better than none to stir up memories
… and what other purpose do photos have?
Many of my acquaintances have been forced into viewing enjoyed these photos; I even have a few hanging on walls here and there.
But what good are they sitting in a box or on a hard drive where no one sees them?
“It’s just bits in the æther until the print is made“
I used to do my own printing – but what to do with the prints?
So here’s a way of sharing – I hope you enjoy them. There are a lot of them herein.
Some special groupings are presented in “blog” posts; most are gathered into albums of similar topics.
Here’s just a sample of my albums:
Roads
Images of roads I’ve travelled
Odds & Ends
Oddball images.
One of my favorite categories
Trains
I have this thing for trains – especially old steam engines
Although I might consider offering prints for sale, this is not an on-line storefront.
If you are interested in obtaining a high-resolution print, shoot me an email – and although no promises are made, we’ll see what comes of it.
